Dr. Taylor began his career as a middle school social studies teacher in Arizona. He began his career in school administration as an assistant principal in Davie County Schools before joining Cabarrus County Schools in 2014 as an assistant principal at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School. In 2016, he moved into the lead adminstrative role (or the "lead learner," as Dr. Taylor says) as principal of Coltrane-Webb Elementary School. Dr. Taylor joined Hickory Ridge Middle in 2019 and has loved every minute being a Maverick!

Dr. Taylor earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University and a doctorate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  He is excited about meeting each and every student, and he is proud of his role in supporting Maverick families and staff as we continue to build a strong, positive, and innovative school.
