Summer Camp Details

  • Hickory Ridge Summer Camps are for Rising 6th – 8th grade students. 
  • Camps take place Monday through Thursday
  • The cost is $100.00 per camps
  • Morning camps take place from 9:00am – 12:00pm
  • Afternoon camps take place from 12:30pm – 3:30pm

    This camp is the perfect blend of art, creativity, movie making, game development and technology…..all in one week! Campers will bring real life and imagination to the virtual world in many unique formats, using several fun platforms. No experience is necessary

  • Date: June 10th – June 13th

    Time: AM camp (9:00am – 12:00pm)

    This is a week campers won’t forget!

    They will learn to code robots to go through all sorts of fun and challenging obstacles. But wait….there’s more! These challenging obstacles will be created by….(wait for it)……YOU!!!! So, get your imagination going! No experience is necessary

    Join us as we take flight into the world of unmanned aerial vehicles! Campers will explore the principles of flight and pilot drones through very cool challenges. The week will end in a first-of-its-kind drone competition. Grab your friends - you won’t want to miss this one!
    No experience is necessary.

    Join us for an exciting adventure in the world of Minecraft! Discover the secrets of this virtual universe as we navigate through its landscapes, master coding skills to shape new worlds, and demolish the old ones! Get ready for an exciting experience!
    Round up your besties and take on this thrilling journey together!
    No experience required.

    Are you interested in Cheerleading? Do you love to dance and get pumped up at sporting events? If so, then come check out Maverick Cheer Camp! This camp will be geared towards learning arm motions, jumps, cheers, and dance routines all while getting to know fun, new people through engaging in team-building activities. This camp will also help rising 7th and 8th graders prepare for our Maverick Cheerleading tryouts for the 2023-24 school year! Let's Go Mavericks!! Campers should wear tennis shoes/socks, shorts/t-shirt, a hair tie, and bring a snack/drink for break time.

    Cinder… This Poison Heart… Once Upon A Dream… Fairy Tale retellings are one of the biggest trends in literature currently! In this camp, our students learn how to take their favorite fairy tales and bring them to the modern age or into the future in their own unique ways!

    The End. Almost every book ends in those two words and leaves the reader wondering what happened to the characters after the author closed their laptop. But what if we got to decide what happened to our favorite characters after their adventure ended? In The End.. Or Is It, students will learn about the basics of creative writing and put those skills to the test as they create another chapter of their characters lives. We’ll see you at the camp… or will we?

    Computer screens, phone screens, tv screens. How on earth did people have fun before all of these screens? Well, this camp provides students with the chance to experience just that! Good, old fashioned board games and card games without the use of a single screen. Students will play games such as Uno, Exploding Kittens, What Do You Meme?, and so much more all while having fun with their friends!

    Did you know that performing acts of kindness has been proven to boost one’s feeling of happiness? Mavericks Helping Mavericks is designed to do just that! Students in this camp will work together to perform small acts of kindness that will have an impact on not only the school community, but the community that surrounds HiRMS. By the end of this summer camp, student’s will be overflowing with happiness!

    Skills, drills, games and more! Come hone your shooting, dribbling, passing and more as we take our basketball skills to the next level. Participate in fun scrimmage games every day and win cool prizes during action-packed camp competitions. Campers should bring a ball, water bottle and wear comfy athletic clothes and shoes each day! Whether you're a beginner just getting started or a seasoned pro, we’ve got you covered this summer!

    Grade: Rising 7th – 8th 

    Student Capacity: UNLIMITED

    Students will work on sight reading, scales, solos, and tone quality.

  • Date: June 3rd - June 6th  AND  June 10th – June 13th 

    Time: PM camp (12:30pm – 3:30pm)

    Grade: Rising 6th Grade

    Student Capacity: UNLIMITED

    Students that have signed up for 6th grade band will want to attend this camp. You will learn how to put your instrument together, make the correct sounds and learn your first 5 notes. This is not mandatory for all 6th grade band students but will really help you get started! Students who attend a morning camp session will need to bring a lunch to eat in the cafeteria between camp sessions.
